How delivery works

The Dealer is responsible for packing, preparing and delivering any item you purchase from them personally. All the dealers that are a part of Peter Petrou Works of Art are experienced at running and managing such affairs and will have a range of preferred couriers and reliable methods on hand to ensure your purchase arrives on time, as quoted and in the condition it was sold.

For an International delivery quote, simply use 'Expert Advice: Contact Dealer" stating the address where you'd like the item to be delivered.

Northern Indian Brass Peacock

19th Century

Height 19 cm width 17 cm depth 9 cm ( 7.5 x 6.75 x 3.75 in)

A brass container from an oil lamp in the form of a slender necked peacock with a small head and long beak. The wings and raised openwork tail are incised with feathers. Protruding from underneath the bird is a central hollow shaft and from his breast a long oil outlet.

One of his legs is inscribed "9" in Arabic script.

It is of traditional form and similar to a peacock incense burner in the Fowler Museum, Los Angeles.
