These flower like crystal structures were formed from the mineral celestine within a bed of hard black shale and were discovered in Hunan Province in China, an area known for its unusual rock formations. However, although Celestine is found in small quantities in sedementary rocks all over the world this particular chrysanthemum like structure is most unusual and has only been found in this one area in Hunan.
