All the dealers that are a part of Peter Petrou Works of Art are experienced at running and managing such affairs and will have a range of preferred couriers and reliable methods on hand to ensure your purchase arrives on time, as quoted and in the condition it was sold.

A Pair of 17th Century Northern European Fountain Heads

Circa 1680

This pair of fountain masks are carved in oak in deep relief and show a bearded man with open mouth, wide eyes and flowing locks of hair.

Old repairs to the faces and traces of polychrome in the hair and corners of the eyes.

The tradition of human fountain masks dates back many hundreds of years; for a pair in bronze from the end of the 15th century and a pair in stone from Nürnberg, Germany, see biblio.
